Keeping in view the principles of justice and dignity that are central of Islamic Teachings, labours should be treated fairly. .

What is labour?

Labour means physical work or working with your hands and body. The most important thing is earning an honest living, honest and hard work is worthy of great respect. Hazrat Muhammad(P.B.U.H)himself participated in work along with his companions. An example may be the active construction of Masjid e Nabwi in which the prophet(P.B.U.H) took part.

Is Islam a religion of violence?

Hazrat Muhammad(P.B.U.H) once said,

“ Give the worker his wages before his sweat dries.”

highlighting our obligation to ensure fair compensation and humane treatment. Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H) also said,

Whoever employs someone to do a job, let him of his wages.”

reinforcing the justice in labour practices.

Women’s Rights

Women in Pakistan, not only in Pakistan but nearly in every single country they find themselves in, in hostile work environments where they are subjected to physical and emotional abuse. The culture of fear stifles their potential and limits their opportunities for advancements. Unfortunately, the lack of robust legal protections leaves these women vulnerable and without recourse. Many include forced marriages, physical and harassments etc. In statistics 28% of women face physical violence every year.

Recommendations

  1. Strengthening Legal Protections: The government must enforce laws that protect women.
  2. Creating safe work Environment: Employers should be required to establish work places where women can work free from violence.
  3. Education and Training
  4. Promote Gender Equality
